Hey guys. How y'all doing? Did you miss me? Because I missed being on here. How is your weekend ? I hope you are all well. This post is coming a bit late because my mb finished unexpectedly *hides face* .
So on Thursday, I tried out the popular spritz method of shampooing on my braids and it felt great!!! My scalp is so clean and my braids are not frizzy. This is how I scaled through the whole process without stress. And of course they will be in... You guessed it STEPS!! What better way to make things clearer right?
You will need:
Shampoo, warm water (for spritz bottle) and Lukewarm (for rinsing process) , conditioner, oil, spritz bottle and gel(optional)
Step 1
Gather all your products. It is always best to have everything in place to avoid running up and down...lol.
Step 2:
Section your braids. The norm is 6-8. We do this because it makes the process sooo much easier especially if you braid them. I braided mine into 8.
Step 3:
Get some warm water and pour it into your spritz bottle. I don't have a complete measurement for this, just make sure it is enough to keep your hair saturated. To be honest I am not quite sure why warm water works before shampooing, I guess it is because it opens up the cuticles of the hair to receive the shampoo.
Step 4:
Spritz this warm water on your braids until your scalp is saturated.
Step 5:
Pour a few drops of shampoo into the spritz bottle (enough to lather). And shake, shake, shake.
Step 6:
Spritz the shampoo on your braids one section at a time and rub. Be sure not to use your nails because this will definitely cause frizz and is just stress for your roots.
Step 7:
When you have covered every section rinse out with lukewarm water. Repeat steps 5-7 if necessary depending on how dirty your hair is.
Step 8:
Experts say you can deep condition whilst in braids as well. However I think I am doing fine with moisturizing right after. So I mix my conditioner and water and moisturize! You still remember how to do that right? If you don't, you can check here.
Optional step:
Loosen each section and add edge control section by section to prevent frizz.
I hope this post was helpful. I'm so sorry I didn't post details pictures, my camera wasn't clear I will try to update this post, when I do so.
Have you ever washed your hair in braids? How did you go about it?
POST YOU SOON GUYS!!
XOXO
DOLAPO
